After being a finalist for three years, TERRA Resource Group has been awarded the top spot on this year’s Best Company to Work for in Washington State. The award is co-sponsored by Washington CEO Magazine. TERRA was honored with the first place award in the small business category (less than 100 employees) out of a field of 39 companies.
TERRA was also named Washington State Family Business of the Year in 1998. The firm is owned by Steve and Betty Neighbors and their daughter, Jenifer Lambert and her husband, Greg. “Treating people well is not just a core business value for us. It’s also a family value,” says Betty Neighbors, TERRA Founder and President.
Once an employer is nominated for the award, management must submit a profile of the company and employees are asked to rate the company on areas such as internal communication, working environment, supervision, rewards and recognition, benefits, career development and leadership. The evaluations are conducted anonymously on-line. The results for finalist companies are then published in Washington CEO magazine.
