My New Warehouse Job Incorporates Everything I Love

Bailey Babcock loves two things: being outside and being productive.

That’s why she didn’t mind physical labor. So, for a little over a year, she did some packaging warehouse work. But, at the end of the day, Bailey wanted a more interesting role.

“I wanted to expand my knowledge and grow my skills,” Bailey said.

Her friend recommended contacting a local staffing agency. Bailey did an online search and found the TERRA Beaverton office nearby.

Excited at the idea of new employment opportunities, she called and scheduled an interview.

“I went in looking for a full-time, Monday through Friday schedule that was close to home. I was hoping to find a job outdoors doing something I enjoy more – I love the sun and being outside!” Bailey shared.

Haley Rott, Beaverton Recruiter, was staffing for a temp-to-hire warehouse position that required close attention to detail. She thought it might be a good fit for Bailey.

“During the interview, Bailey shared a story where she pointed out a potential safety hazard to her previous employer. Her focus on safety, knowledge of warehouse processes and overall positive and motivated demeanor made her the ideal candidate for the role,” Haley said.

The client agreed! Bailey was offered the position and started within a few days.

And we’re happy to share that Bailey has since been converted to a regular, full-time employee!

“This job has all the perks! I work with a great crew and get to work outdoors. My job duties differ daily and I share my time between an office and a warehouse environment. I have the ideal schedule and I’m close to home – I love it!”

She had this advice for people searching for a job they love:

“Be trusting and try new things. Keep an open mind. Temporary work is great because you get to test the waters – it’s kind of like a long-term interview. You get the opportunity to see how well you work with the company and if you’re a good fit. You don’t have anything to lose, so just give it a go and see how you like it!”
