Training Within Industry (TWI)
APPROVED By HRCI for 1.0 General Credit
The war is on for talent and increasingly employers are facing the question of “buy or build”—do we pay a premium for hard-to-find skills or do we invest in training and developing raw talent. And even if you hire experienced, skilled employees they will still need to be trained in your processes and methods.
In this session, Mike Redmond, President of Ops Savvy, will introduce you to a training method that has been proven to lead to improved performance and acquisition of new skills in shorter time frames.
What is Training Within Industry?
Training Within Industry (TWI) is a proven, effective methodology for training employees in both hard and soft skills. Initially implemented 70 years ago, TWI was very effective in supporting the U.S. war effort during WWII and was instrumental in the development of the Toyota Production System. It is experiencing a strong resurgence in U.S. industry because of its ability to deliver training that is current, just-in-time, and “sticky.” Attendees will learn the underlying principles of all 4 modules of TWI, as well as the detailed methodologies within one of the modules, Training Within Industry Job Instruction.
