TERRA Didn't Give up on Me and Helped Me Succeed

This week we’d like to shine the spotlight on Alex Brooks, who came to TERRA with the goal of finding a job, never imagining that the company, and specifically his recruiter, would become so invested in his success.

Alex first met with Seattle recruiter, Suzette Nedervelt, back in December 2013. After learning more about his sales and marketing experience, Suzette believed him an excellent fit for a sales administration job she was looking to fill. She told Alex about the position and he agreed that it sounded like a great opportunity for him. Suzette reached out the client; they met with Alex, acknowledged that he would be a fit for the job, and hired him!

Unfortunately, about a month into the assignment, both Alex and the client were no longer confident that it was the right fit. As that job drew to a close, Suzette, ever determined, quickly went to work trying to find Alex something new. But she wanted to do more for Alex than just find him a job. She endeavored to find him a long-term career opportunity that would utilize his skill set and educational background, and she succeeded!

Alex is now working for an up-and-coming start-up company that has tremendous professional advancement opportunities. They are invested in developing their employees and take the time to get know their interests and recognize their achievements.  And if that isn’t exciting enough news, less than one month into the role, Alex is already being considered for a promotion! This will hopefully be a career-defining job for him.

We are thrilled that we were able to help Alex find a job he loves. We are also pleased to have given him a new outlook on employment services. When we say that TERRA is not like other staffing agencies out there, we mean it. We truly believe we are successful when we help others become successful!

Tell us a little bit about you and your background.

I grew up in Detroit, Michigan as the only child to a single mother. I was inspired to go to school to improve the lives of my family and take care of my mother. My background mainly focuses on business development, marketing and sales. I’m a firm believer in having the right attitude combined with hard work can open many doors in life.

How did you hear about TERRA? 

I started reaching out to different recruiters in the Seattle area and decided to just walk into a TERRA Staffing office.

How did your experience with TERRA compare to what you expected or experienced from other staffing firms?

I was not expecting the relationship with TERRA to grow much further past me getting a job, but I noticed that my recruiter Suzette had a strong will to see me succeed. When one role wasn’t a good fit she didn’t just give up on me. 

Is there anyone specifically at TERRA you would like to thank?

I would like to thank Suzette Nedervelt for her hard work and dedication. I’ve worked with many recruiters and very few can measure up to her drive to see her clients succeed. Suzette does whatever it takes to get the job done. She’s simply a world class professional!
