Thanks to TERRA, I Have a Great Job and a Better Work-Life Balance

Tracy Spencer moved to Portland from Wisconsin in 2016.

Though she had over six years of experience working for a global leader in the fast food industry, she was looking for something different. Ideally, she was searching for a job that offered more convenient hours. Her goal was to have a better work-life balance.

Tracy was not sure how to go about finding a job that offered a day schedule and consistent hours. Then a friend recommended that she reach out to a staffing firm for help.

She turned to TERRA’s Beaverton office and met with Recruiter, Megan Herrell.

Megan shared, “Tracy was a big ray of sunshine! She was friendly, determined and just great to be around.”

She continued, “Though she had experience in the food industry, Tracy knew that to get her foot in the door of a manufacturing or production company, she would have to start in an entry-level role.”

Shortly after, Megan found Tracy a contract-to-hire position doing quality control.

“Quality control was very different from what I’d done before. But it was cool to be able to see the various aspects of production,” Tracy shared.

And she excelled in the role.

Megan said, “The client had an open position in their shipping department. Because Tracy was so consistent in her role, she was chosen for the job!”

That’s right, just two months into the job, Tracy was promoted! And she received a pay bump, too!

Tracy had never worked with a staffing firm before and shared the following about her experience with TERRA: “I didn’t know what to expect, but everyone was helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend TERRA.”

She also wanted to thank Megan. “She’s been great. She checks up on me… I definitely have nothing but great things to say about her.”

Megan also had great things to say about Tracy. “Tracy was eager to take on new challenges and it was clear that she was motivated. Tracy has an amazing work ethic and continues to work hard despite all of life’s challenges.” She added, “I love seeing what a great fit the job is for Tracy and how Tracy is such a great fit for the client. They work so well together. Her story warms my heart.”
