Guy Roland
We are so pleased that we were able to help you find the right fit, Guy!

Guy Roland did railway maintenance work for 14 years in the Ivory Coast.

In July of 2015, he moved to the United States. And though his English language skills were limited, his work ethic was strong.

When he found himself looking for employment, a friend of his who had also moved from the Ivory Coast, referred him to TERRA, since TERRA had been able to help him find work.

He went to TERRA’s Everett office and met with Recruiter, Kirsten Poe.

Despite Guy’s limited U.S. work experience and the slight language barrier, he conveyed one message very clearly: “I don’t mind hard work,” he told Kirsten.

One of her clients needed a Warehouse Assistant to do some physical labor for four to six weeks. It was a large warehouse that moved a lot of product and needed someone who was willing to work hard.

Kirsten wanted to give him a chance and this was the perfect opportunity for him to prove himself.

And prove himself he did.

The client was pleased with Guy’s performance from the very beginning. They thought he was hard worker and very reliable.

After the six weeks had passed, the client reached out to Kirsten to ask if they could “keep Guy till further notice.”

Just one week later, the hiring manager called Kirsten and said, “What do I need to do in order to hire Guy as a full time Warehouse Assistant?”

Guy made a big impression during his time working in the warehouse. So much so that he was able to turn a four to six week project into full-time, regular employment!

Guy was thankful to TERRA’s staff. He said, “TERRA is the best employment finder I have met since I came to the USA.”
