Moving to a new state can be stressful. Not only do you have to get familiar with your new surroundings and make new friends, more often than not, you need to find a new job.

But Faith Sackey was accustomed to moving, having lived in various states before. And she was always prepared.

For example, when her boyfriend received a job offer in Baltimore and had to leave their home in Michigan, she made sure to secure a job before joining him.

Before she could make the move, however, her boyfriend was promoted – and his new job was in Washington State!

Faith had to turn down the job she had lined up in Maryland. And, not knowing what her next job would be, she moved to Tacoma.

She had a diverse background, having worked in legal and business industries for over 16 years, and thought maybe finding a job wouldn’t be too hard.

But it was.

So she partnered with three other staffing agencies in the area, knowing that employment firms are well-connected. Unfortunately, for over a month, she made no progress.

Then one day, she walked by TERRA’s Tacoma office.

“I saw a lot of people going in and out – and everyone coming out was smiling,” she shared.

She decided to do some research online, found TERRA’s success stories, and was determined to be one of them.

Faith made an appointment and met with the Tacoma team, though Mandy Garcia, Tacoma Recruiter, would become her main point of contact.

Mandy shared, “Faith was well-spoken, polite, and cheerful – and excited to develop her career. She had a strong legal background and her previous experience required great attention to detail. She was also incredibly adaptable. I knew then that she would be a great fit for one of my clients.”

Mandy presented Faith to her client for a customer service lead role. And we are excited to share that they brought Faith on-board as a full-time, regular employee!

What’s even better is that Faith was recently promoted to a project management role!

Faith is incredibly happy in her role. “I like the challenges of the job. I am a natural-problem solver and thrive in these types of environments.”

Her employer really appreciates her and her work, too.

Mandy said, “They value her cheerful nature and her optimistic outlook, despite being given ever-changing tasks. Her complete and thorough communication helps keep everyone in the loop. She is a true leader.”

She added, “My client is lucky to have her.”

We asked Faith about her experience working with TERRA. She said, “If I could score TERRA higher than 100%, I would. People have a negative view of staffing, but the people at TERRA were committed to getting me what I asked for. I’ve been able to meet good people, advance… TERRA has helped me achieve a lot.”

“I send people to TERRA all the time. I am always giving out Mandy’s business cards,” Faith said with a laugh.

She also wanted to give special thanks to Mandy. “I harassed Mandy to no end. I asked her so many questions, but she was available to me, no matter the time. She always addressed my questions.”

Faith concluded by saying, “Everyone at TERRA was warm and welcoming. They made my transition to Washington easier.”

We are glad we could play a part in Faith’s story and are so happy we could help her find a job where she can be successful.
