TERRA Helped Me Land a New Job in Just One Week

Alex Parker served in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Electronic Technician. When he returned to civilian life, he went back to school and then went to work for a large sporting goods retailer.
That job wasn’t the best fit for him.
Alex wanted something different. Ideally, something similar to the work he did while in the Navy.
An online job search led him to TERRA’s Kirkland Branch. He met with Recruiting Coordinator, Kay Petersen.
Kay enjoyed meeting Alex. She thought he was very professional and pleasant. His military experience, she thought, had given some great skills.
She thought he would be a good fit for a role Yevon Yoo, Kirkland Recruiter, was working on for one of her clients, and immediately told her about him.
Yevon was looking to fill a contract-to-hire, Mechanical Customer Support Specialist role. When she heard about Alex, she thought he would be great for the role due to his previous experience.
Yevon shared, “He had fundamental knowledge of complex electronic equipment, including a variety of mechanical parts like hydraulics, conveyors, wires, pumps, and motors. And he had strong customer service experience working in the retail industry. He was a unicorn!”
She presented Alex to her client and they loved him.
Just one week after coming in to the Kirkland office, Alex was starting a new job!
The client loves that Alex has both customer service skills and has mechanical aptitude. They told Yevon, “Alex is very dependable, very dedicated and willing to learn. He’s a great team player and interacts well with our customers and vendors.”
We asked Alex about his experience with TERRA.
He said, “I’ve never worked with a staffing firm before. It was a good experience and it was really easy – and quick. I came in and got a job the next week.”
He added, “I would recommend TERRA to people looking for work and I would like to thank Yevon.”
