TERRA Helped Me Secure A Better Future!

Finding a new job can be a challenging and stressful process.

And if you are already working, considering leaving your job for something new has its own challenges and stresses.

“What if it doesn’t work out? Should I just stay in the job I have, even though I don’t love it? At least it’s familiar…”

Sometimes you just need to take a leap of faith and find a way to make what you want to happen, happen.

Today, we’d like to share Jessie Gonzales’ story.

Jessie was a soon-to-be father. He was working as a Turret Operator for a company in Kent, but was considering a new job to be closer to home.  He wanted to take charge of his future and, wisely, he reached out to TERRA to help him navigate this change.

A friend of his recommended that he connect with TERRA Staffing Group, since he had a great experience partnering with TERRA to help him find a new job recently.

Jessie took his friend’s advice and searched TERRA’s on-line job board for opportunities. He saw a position for a Metal Fabricator and applied.

Yevon Yoo, a recruiter in TERRA’s Kirkland office, saw Jessie’s application and gave him a call.  After chatting with him briefly, she scheduled him to come in for an in-person interview the next day. She thought that Jessie would be a great fit for the contract-to-hire role he’d applied for.

In just three days after speaking with Yevon, Jessie was offered the job on a contract-to-hire basis.

Though it was a risk to leave his full-time job, Jessie decided that he would take the chance, especially if it meant a better future and the chance for him to be closer to his growing family.

Jessie wasn’t there long before he knew it was the job for him – and the company for him. He wanted to do everything within his power to turn the contract job into something more. Jessie came to work on-time every day and brought with him a positive attitude and a hunger to succeed and be seen as an asset to the company.

Jessie’s hard work and determination paid off.  He is now a full-time, regular employee with that company… and he received a pay raise!

We couldn’t be happier for Jessie and we’re grateful to play a role in helping him create his own success story!

We asked Jessie to talk about his experience working with TERRA.

First tell us a little bit about you and your background.
I’ve always had a hard time making the right decisions in life and thinking about my future. But two years ago, I was introduced to metal fabrication. It truly gave me start to my career and bright future. What TERRA did was help me get a job at a company with room to excel to a higher position than where I started. I can never truly repay them for what they have helped me with.

How did you hear about TERRA?
I first heard about TERRA from a friend who had a great experience with them.

How did your experience with TERRA compare to what you expected or experienced from other staffing firms?
I knew TERRA was going to be a good company to get a job through, but I didn’t think they were going to be as helpful as they were.

Is there anyone specifically at TERRA you would like to thank?
I would like to thank Yevon for not only helping me get the job and pay I wanted, but for literally being there every second I needed help. She was extremely proactive about answering any questions I had. She is a GREAT person to represent TERRA!

What else would you like us to know?
To anyone who is thinking about a different career, I definitely recommend TERRA to help you get what you are looking for.
