TERRA Helped Me in the Past – And Again With My Future

Dorsey Simmons worked with TERRA in the early 90’s and again in the mid-90’s. During that time we were able to find him regular, full-time employment. Down the line, unfortunately, he ended up being laid off.

After that, he worked for a different staffing company for a little while, doing various temp jobs, but felt unhappy with the opportunities they had available, and dissatisfied with the professionalism of the staff.

He decided to return to TERRA, since we’d been able to successfully help him with his job search in the past.

Dorsey met with Everett Recruiter, Katie Jones. Right away, Katie knew of several clients that were looking to fill contract-to-hire positions. But Dorsey informed Katie that he was not looking for long-term employment. He was only interested in making some money here and there.

TERRA’s Everett office did as he requested and helped place him in various temporary roles.

Katie was very impressed with his work ethic. “Dorsey’s extremely reliable. You never doubt when he says ‘yes’ to something – you just know he is going to do it.”

That’s why she couldn’t help but present him with another contract-to-hire opportunity, this time working for a rapidly growing company committed to the use of plastic as a renewable resource.

Dorsey was curious and decided to do some research on the company before committing to the idea. He came back to Katie and told her, “I want to work for this company.”

And that’s what happened.

Dorsey is now a regular, full-time employee of the company and is being trained to be a machine operator and to lead his own three-person crew!

We asked Dorsey to share a little about his experience working with TERRA.

How did your experience with TERRA compare to what you expected or experienced from other staffing firms?

TERRA is a lot more professional and offers much better jobs than the other place I’d been to.  They know me at TERRA. They’re a friendly caring staff.

Is there anyone specifically at TERRA you’d like to thank?

Katie. She worked hard to get me to work fast.
