You’ve read the headlines. The Seattle City Council, in a unanimous vote, passed an ordinance that sets a minimum wage for employees in the city of Seattle that far exceeds the current minimum wage in Washington State.

Employers inside of Seattle city limits will be obviously affected, but there are implications for employers throughout the Puget Sound region as well. Even employers who are currently paying wages in excess of the new minimum wage will be impacted.
