About the Speaker

Akisanya is a senior executive and vice president of justice, equity, diversity, inclusion (JEDI) and people experience at Axon. In this role, he leads the development and execution of Axon’s global JEDI strategy and oversees the enhancement of the overall people experience at Axon. Previously, he served as the global head of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at Groupon, where he was responsible for building Groupon’s DEI global strategy. He focused on creating short- and long-term plans to foster a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture for Groupon’s merchants, customers, and teammates. Akisanya’s commitment to fostering positive change extends beyond his professional roles. He serves on the board of directors for i.c.stars, a program dedicated to providing workforce development and access to career opportunities for low-income adults. Additionally, he is the chairman of the board of directors for Digitalundivided, advocating for economic growth among Black and Latinx women entrepreneurs and innovators. He also serves on the board of directors for the Chicago State University Foundation.
