Lauren Blakeley

Manager, Talent Engagement

Lauren has over 10 years of experience in Operations, Executive Support and Team Management, but was pushed to look for a new role when COVID started to negatively impact the hospitality industry.

In November of 2020, Lauren started with TERRA as Team Supervisor of our Talent Engagement Department.

Lauren proved to be an invaluable member of the team and in January of 2022 was promoted to Manager.

More About Lauren

One of Lauren’s biggest hobbies is caring for her house plant collection — she has 150 plants!

Outside of caring for her plants, Lauren also loves spending time exploring the bakeries that the greater Seattle area has to offer, and spending time on the water when the weather permits.

Get to know me

Tell me about your first job.

My first job was at Build-a-Bear Workshop, where best friends are made! I was the lead "Birthday Bear" that hosted parties. I have always enjoyed getting a crowd excited and making moments memorable.

What other professions would you like to try?

Another profession I'm interested in is event planning. I've had a hand in coordinating large concerts, company holiday events, and birthday parties- I'm always excited to get lost in all the details. I've also dreamt of becoming a Firework Choreographer.

If you could possess any super power, what would it be?

A superpower I'd want is the ability to speak every language. The gift of communication to anyone, anywhere.

What do you enjoy most about working in the staffing industry?

The most enjoyable part of working in the staffing industry is talking to people from all walks of life, with a common goal of wanting to better their lives. I remember being in their shoes and feeling like the apply and interview process was intimidating. I'm happy to ease their minds that we're here to help them through the process.

Best career advice you've ever received?

The best career advice I've received is to have the awkward conversations. And by that I mean to address things head-on rather than avoid them.
