When I Couldn’t Find the Job I Wanted, TERRA Was Able to Help

Dion Henderson was going through a tough time. He had been out of work for over a year and like many people in unstable situations, he really wanted to find a steady job.

Though he had extensive warehouse experience, Dion was hoping for a driving or manufacturing role. 

But more than anything, he was looking for work with clear expectations and well-explained duties. He longed for a place where he would feel like a valued member of the team. 

During his initial job search, Dion applied to several positions in transportation. Unfortunately, he didn’t get the responses he was looking for. 

That’s when he decided it was time to contact TERRA Staffing Group. 

You see, Dion had already worked with TERRA in the past and had been happy with the results. 

“I had a great experience the first time I worked with TERRA. I never put them out of my mind. So when I couldn’t find the job I wanted, I knew they could help.”

Hopeful, Dion went to TERRA’s Beaverton’s office where Josh Byrnes, his previous recruiter, recognized him. Josh quickly helped Dion find employment. 

Sadly, while Dion was excited about this opportunity, it didn’t end up being the right fit. 

Other people might’ve been discouraged, but not Dion. He didn’t give up on finding a good position, or on TERRA. 

He reached out to TERRA again and spoke to Senior Staffing Specialist Ariell Cha-Huynh. 

His energy and drive impressed her. “Dion was eager to work. He was open and honest and was hungry to do well.”

Still, as we all know, finding the perfect job isn’t easy. But eventually, Ariell told Dion about a job as a Machine Operator. 

“Ariell filled me in on what to expect. She explained the position and told me to give her a call at the end of my first day to see how it went.” 

Sometimes you just know when something’s right. And it was instantly clear to Dion that this was the job for him.

“It was totally awesome!” he said. 

From day one, Dion felt welcomed and supported by his new team.

“It was a really caring setting! Not only did my colleagues accept me right away, I instantly got along with my them.

“They told me what had to be done, took the time to teach me and regularly checked in on me. They all pitched in to help me. Even now, they compliment me when I do things right. And they still teach me.”

Dion also quickly felt fulfilled in his job. He was thankful that his input was valued and taken into account. 

“They listen to my feedback and implement changes that help me work faster. Now, work flows and days go so fast.”

Though Dion’s role started as an on-demand position, he did so well his employer has asked him to come in regularly. According to them, Dion is one of the best employees they have had in a long time!

They gushed, “We can put him on any machine and he always learns it really fast.”

It seems Dion made quite the impact!
