TERRA Found Me a Great Job Where My Skills Can Really Shine

When your job is your passion, the pain of having it taken away from you can be heartbreaking.
Tjen Tegoeh loved her job. Because the work she was doing was anything but typical.
She assembled life-saving medical devices—and that included microscopes! Not only did she like her role, Tjen also really enjoyed the company she worked for. In fact, she hoped to work there until she retired.
So when it was announced that they would be relocating their entire operations to Costa Rica, she was devastated.
Tjen worried she wouldn’t find another job that was as fulfilling. But the reality was, she needed income. So she pushed through her hesitations and put herself out there.
Her search led her to an assembly position that TERRA’s Everett branch was recruiting for. Tjen connected with the branch, and made it clear that she didn’t want to settle for a role that she wouldn’t be happy in.
That’s when Pamela Ayson, Everett Staffing Specialist, had a job open up that she knew would be perfect for her. It was a Cleanroom Assembly role for an aerospace company. Excited, Tjen thought this sounded like a good fit, too!
Clearly, Pamela found a great match because Tjen’s background really impressed the client, and they set up an interview right away. Tjen was nervous, but she didn’t need to be.
She nailed that interview—which even included a soldering test! Completing a skills test on-the-spot could be nerve-wracking for a lot of people. But not for Tjen, because it gave her expert-level assembly techniques a chance to really shine.
Unsurprisingly, she received a job offer!
We’re happy to share that Tjen loves her new position because of all that she’s learning in aerospace.
