TERRA Helped Me Take The Next Step in My Career

Some people are content with their career staying in one place, not Nicholas Granado. As a proactive and ambitious person, he was always thinking of his next growth opportunity. 

Nicholas had already achieved quite a lot. Not only had he worked in a Supervisor position for a few years, he also owned his own power washing business on the side. 

But while his supervisor job was good, Nicholas felt like he had gotten everything he could out of it. 

He explained, “I wanted more balance and more growth. I’m a father and a husband, and I have my own company. My schedule wasn’t allowing me to spend the time I needed on my business or my family. I also always want to keep moving forward and find a job with more advancement opportunities.”

Proactive and confident in his abilities, Nicholas decided to start looking for a new job. 

He shared, “I decided to check out my options and see how valuable I was. “I had been in production supervising for a while. So I was looking for a job in that industry, but nothing that would pay less than the job I already had.” 

“So I put out my resume and got a call from TERRA Staffing right away.” 

But while Nicholas felt ready to take the next step in his career, he didn’t really trust staffing agencies. He was worried the jobs he could get through a staffing firm would not be worth his time. 

Still, after giving it some thought, he decided there was no reason not to hear TERRA out. 

He explained, “I got contacted several times by TERRA and, after a while, I decided to give them a chance. After all, if you want to make a change in life you have to go for it.”

He connected with Jillian Oertel, Mesa Recruiter, and she quickly eased his worries about working with a staffing agency. She understood what Nicholas was looking for and they discussed job opportunities. 

In fact, Jillian was instantly impressed with Nicholas. She shared, “Nicholas stood out to me especially because of his urgency and clear vision of what he wanted to do. I remember that when I first connected with him I just knew that he would be a great fit for one of my clients.” 

After talking with Jillian and hearing more about opportunities available to him. Nicholas agreed to interview for a Machine Operating role. 

And it’s a good thing he did!

Jillian recalled, “I was able to get Nicholas set up for an interview on the same day. He impressed them so much that they offered him a lead position instead of the one he interviewed for.” 

Of course, Nicholas, always game for a new opportunity, accepted!

He said, “I love challenging myself, and I always want to keep moving forward. I think it’s the only way to grow and reach your full potential.” 

But while everything had gone without a hitch until then, the path to success is never quite so straightforward. Nicholas ran into a hiccup when his future employers decided to postpone his start date. 

He explained, “I’d already put in my notice so I couldn’t afford to start later than expected.”

Thankfully, Jillian, who knew that the start date was important to Nicholas, spoke to his new employer and explained the situation to them. 

Nicholas recalled, “Jillian really fought for me! I didn’t even have to ask her to do anything. She advocated for me right away and got them to keep my original start date!”

And it’s been smooth sailing since then. Not only does Nicholas love his new job, he also feels like it’s really allowing him to grow. 

He shared, “I enjoy being part of creating something and learning new businesses. I work with lots of great people I can learn from. My life has also improved. I feel like it’s progressing the way I want it to. I make more money, I have opportunities for growth, and things continue to get better!” 

What’s more, Nicholas isn’t the only one happy with his situation. His employers are delighted with him! 

Jillian exclaimed, “They have praised him several times and truly see him growing with the company! His supervisor always says how they need more people just like Nicholas. They appreciate his dedication and the positive impact that he is making on the company!”

With such glowing praise, there’s no doubt Nicholas will continue to grow in his career!

“Be courageous and take chances! Life is full of opportunities and it’s up to you to seize them. If you want to make changes in your life, you have to go for it. After all, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results!”
