My New Job Is a Great Fit and Helps Me Pay the Bills

Ramon Solorio worked at a steel company in California for over six years. But the cost of living was getting too expensive and he needed to be able to pay the bills.
Wanting to find a better opportunity, and a similar climate, he relocated to Phoenix, Arizona. Phoenix was also more affordable!
Being new to the area, and without connections, Ramon decided to get support from local staffing agencies for employment. One firm got him a job as a forklift operator in a warehouse, but he wasn’t getting many hours – and he couldn’t pay the bills.
He really needed something full-time. Ramon was hoping to land a position doing something he had experience with before, like production.
After some research, Ramon found TERRA’s Scottsdale branch. Hoping to have better luck with them, he called and arranged an interview.
He met with Recruiter Amanda King.
“When I first talked with Ramon he was upbeat and very eager to find a good position with a great company,” Amanda said.
She was looking to fill a temp-to-hire stand-up forklift position, pulling and picking orders and she thought he would be a good fit.
“In this role, he would be pulling orders with either a stand-up, sit down or cherry picker forklift. And he just so happens to be certified in all three! Plus, I thought this role would meet all of his personal requirements,” she shared.
Ramon is happy with his new job. He enjoys the production environment and said the company treats the employees well. And it helps him pay the bills!
His employer also loves having him on the team.
“Ramon has a go-getter attitude and a willingness to help his fellow employees. He is always happy to stay and finish orders so they are not behind the next day. He really fits in with the team well,” his supervisor said.
And we have some exciting news to share. Ramon was offered a position as a regular, full-time employee!
When we asked him what he thinks makes him successful in his new position, he said:
“I learn quickly and I’m a team-player and that reflects in my work ethic. If you take pride in your work and the way you do things – people will notice.”
