TERRA Believed in Me and Kept Me Busy with Steady Work Assignments

I’m excited to share the Success Story of LaQuantae Davis.  I have had the opportunity to place LaQuantae on several temporary assignments where she completely wow-ed our clients and now we have hired her to join the Seattle branch team and she’s gone from a candidate to a colleague!

One of the things that made LaQuantae easy to place (in addition to having great skills, professionalism and a winning attitude) was that she would almost always answer her phone.  This may seem like a small thing to some, but makes a very positive impression on a busy recruiter.  Instead of leaving a voicemail and hoping she would call back, I was always able to speak with her to discuss potential opportunities. LaQuantae was a dream candidate to work with – she made herself available on very short notice for interviews as well as for temporary jobs. She always made excellent impressions and I loved hearing feedback from our clients after they had met her because they always raved about her positive energy, her professionalism, and her tremendous poise.

One day, I received a call from a client needing an immediate replacement for a receptionist. They needed someone within the next couple of hours and they needed someone polished, positive, and professional. Naturally, I called LaQuantae! She arranged for childcare for her son and arrived there for work in less than 2 hours of my call and immediately began impressing everyone in that office.

LaQuantae was scheduled to work there for two weeks as the temporary receptionist, but that particular client was so favorably impressed with the quality and integrity of LaQuantae’s work that they extended her assignment there in a much larger capacity. She took on a sizeable administrative project for them (which resulted in them doubling her hourly pay rate!) and was extremely successful in helping them achieve their desired results. LaQuantae turned that two week receptionist assignment and turned it into a high-level administrative role for over 3 months! Upon her departure, her supervisor wrote a personal thank-you to LaQuantae. In her note she cited LaQuantae’s excellent communication skills, effectiveness, professionalism and the delightful way she interacted with all of her co-workers.

It just so happened that at the same time that position was coming to a close, our Seattle branch office was search for a new front office coordinator.  I enthusiastically recommended LaQuantae for the role! We are so thrilled that she accepted the offer to work with us every day!  And now, anyone who calls or comes into our Seattle office will also have the distinct pleasure of speaking with LaQuantae.

I recently interviewed LaQuantae about her experience working with TERRA.

How did you get connected to TERRA Staffing Group?

I found TERRA after my mother suggested that I research staffing agencies in the area to assist with my job search. I applied to a job posting that TERRA had posted and a few days later I received a call from Jez Martinez requesting that I come in for an interview!

Have you ever worked with a staffing agency before?

I had never worked with a staffing agency before I interviewed at TERRA.  Although my knowledge and experience of staffing groups was limited before working with TERRA, I can honestly say that if it were not for you, Patty, and all your hard work at finding a job that was the right fit for me and my qualifications, I would still be searching for employment on my own right now. I am so grateful to you for believing in me and all that I have to offer as an employee and I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to utilize my skills at the very same place that helped to keep my family afloat with steady work assignments during my search for employment.

What were your expectations when you first applied with TERRA? Did we meet them?

My expectations were not clearly set when I walked into the TERRA office to interview.  I was in need of the all the help I could get while seeking gainful employment and I was hopeful that TERRA would be a good resource for me. I was thoroughly blown away by the warm, welcoming and enthusiastic support, dedication and hard work that you exhibited as my recruiter.  You worked so hard to place me in just the right spot and always called me after placing me on a new assignment just to check in and see how I was doing, fitting in, etc.  It was this display of personal touch that allowed me to feel a special connection to you before even meeting you in person!  Needless to say, my expectations were surpassed.  I cannot thank you and TERRA Staffing Group enough for all their hard work as my staffing agency and I am proud to call myself a member of the TERRA team!
