TERRA Kept Me Steadily Employed and I Turned My Temp Job Into a Career

When looking for a new job, people often dismiss temporary opportunities.

But not Dawn Dyer.

Though she would have loved to transition into full-time, regular employment when she found herself looking for work in 2013, Dawn saw value in temporary work.

“It’s so flexible. You can travel to different companies and learn new things. You find yourself doing things you never thought you’d do. I love it,” she said.

She visited TERRA’s Tukwila office and met with Recruiter, Amanda Roberts, and shared her needs and where she was flexible.

“Dawn had a great skill set and a great personality. She was extremely flexible and willing to dive in,” Amanda stated.

And dive in she did. Whenever the Tukwila team contacted Dawn with contract work, she accepted.

Thanks to her flexibility and great attitude, TERRA was able to keep Dawn busy and steadily employed, doing several kitting assignments for different printing companies. And wherever Dawn was placed, she created raving fans.

“All of our clients have had nothing but great things to say about her and her work ethic,” said Amanda.

So when one of Amanda’s clients called needing someone that could take care of a temporary kitting project, she immediately thought of Dawn.

And like the other clients Dawn had worked for, this client was an immediate fan of hers. Six weeks into the temporary project, the client decided to offer Dawn a full-time, regular role with the company!

“It’s a great company to work for and I love the hours. I also love that it’s a smaller company where people are willing to help. Each day I can learn something new.”

Regarding her experience with TERRA, Dawn said, “Amanda, Betty, Tamika, and Michelle worked as a team to keep me busy.  They stepped in to help and always communicated with me and accommodated my needs. If I told them a job wasn’t a fit for me, they would listen and send me somewhere else. They were professional, but I could still get them to smile. They were laidback and approachable. And it all came together in a very positive way.”

Dawn added, “I need you to know, I recommend you to everyone.
