I Moved to Portland and TERRA Found Me a New Job in No Time

Trevyr White had lived in southern Oregon his whole life. Eager for a new experience, he started looking for a new place to call home.

Luckily, he had friends living in Ohio – making it a great option for a big move. So, he packed up his belongings and started the trek to Ohio.

Once there Trevyr found a job as a machine operator, and he was in the role for about a year. But it wasn’t quite what he was hoping for. And we don’t just mean the job.

“Ohio wasn’t my favorite,” Trevyr admitted. “I knew I needed to find somewhere else to go.”

As soon as he was able, he returned to Oregon. Only this time, instead of southern Oregon, he would be residing closer to Portland.

Because everything happened so quickly, Trevyr didn’t have time to find a job prior to his arrival. But he wasted no time in applying for jobs once he was settled, knowing it can sometimes be a bit of a waiting game.

However, there was no waiting this time. He was contacted just moments after submitting his resume to a job.

“I applied to one position through TERRA and received a call minutes later,” he said. “It was pretty cool.”

He interviewed in TERRA’s Beaverton office and kept an open mind regarding employment opportunities.

Here’s what he shared with his recruiter: “I really prefer industrial-type roles where I can be active and work with my hands. But my main focus was getting something long-term with consistent hours.”

Three days later, Staffing Specialist Ariell Cha reached out to him about a production operator role.

“Trevyr had great experience for the job. He was a hard-worker and wanted a long-term opportunity. He was perfect!” Ariell exclaimed.

He started working as a production operator within a week of his interview with TERRA! He’s happy in his new role.

“The company is a really open and welcoming place to work,” he said. “They are very kind and I get to work with some great people. Plus, I get to do the type of work that makes me smile.”

His supervisors are fans of his as well.

Ariell said, “They have said multiple times what a pleasure it is to have Trevyr on the team. They love his attitude and even hired on some of his referrals hoping they’d be just as great as him!”

But it’s not just the work itself that’s making Trevyr happy.

“This job is the largest source of income I’ve ever had!” Trevyr happily disclosed.
