Thanks to TERRA, I Have the Perfect Job – And a Shorter Commute

When Kandi Nelson found herself looking for a new employment opportunity, there were two things that really mattered to her. First, she wanted a role that would allow her to use her more than 10 years of dispatch experience. Second, she wanted a role that would benefit her family.

And if she could shorten her commute time, that would be a welcome bonus. You see, she’d been driving upwards of an hour-and-a-half to and from work, each way! It wasn’t ideal, but it was a sacrifice she was willing to make for the right job.

Kandi turned to TERRA’s Tacoma office for help with her job search. She met with Scott Mantz, Tacoma Recruiter, and discussed her desire for dispatch work.

Unfortunately, the dispatch opening that Scott had available was not the right fit for Kandi.

But Scott knew that Tabitha Delaire, Field Development Manager, was looking for someone with dispatch experience and he immediately connected her with Kandi.

Tabitha set Kandi up for an interview with her client, and we are happy to share that the client loved Kandi and hired her as a full-time, regular employee!

According to Tabitha, “Kandi’s dispatch experience made her qualified for the role, but it was her focus on customer service that landed her the job.”

Kandi shared, “I love customer service. You get to build relationships with people!”

Her new job not only allows her to do just that, but it also offers the type of fast-paced environment she prefers. Kandi said, “The day goes by so fast, you look up and it’s lunchtime. It’s an easygoing, small office that’s family-owned. No matter what happens, nobody panics. It’s perfect.”

But wait. It gets better. Not only did Kandi end up working in service dispatch – which she loves – her commute time was cut in half! Now she has more time to spend with her family.

She had this to say about her experience working with TERRA: “It was super easy! TERRA took care of everything. It made the whole process smooth and manageable.”

As for whether or not she’d recommend anyone to TERRA, she said, “Of course, I would!” She also went on to say, “I want to thank both Scott and Tabitha. They both gave me quality feedback and constructive criticism that was so important.”
