Ryan Johnson had experience in management and film, but when he found himself looking for work, he wanted to try something different.
He enjoyed doing hands-on work, and even had previous experience building guitar amps. Ideally, he was looking for a job that would allow him to use those skills.
While doing an online job search, he came across an electronic assembly opening through TERRA’s Mesa office.
He met with members of the Mesa team, who thought Ryan had some great experience. They presented him to the client.
Unfortunately, the position did not pan out for Ryan. But that didn’t stop the Mesa team from working on finding Ryan the right fit.
Soon after, an opening became available with a client looking for a mover/installer to help with a large project. The team thought that Ryan would be great for this role. He was able to lift 75 pounds repeatedly and had previous building experience. But more than that, Ryan had a strong, positive, can-do attitude. They knew that he would excel in this position and that the client would like his personality.
Sure enough, the client loved Ryan, saying, “Ryan is an all-around good guy, always willing to help. He takes initiative to get the job done.”
And though the role was only meant to be a temporary assignment, the client decided to bring Ryan on as a regular, full-time employee!
Wait. It gets better! Since being hired on, Ryan has received a promotion! He has transitioned from Mover/Installer to Project Coordinator. In his new role, he coordinates all the moving and renovation details with customers. He is also responsible for ensuring that work gets done in a timely fashion.
Here’s what Ryan had to say about his new job: “I was looking for something different. I wanted a change. I wanted a job that would offer a return on my hard work. This was worth it. I enjoy the people I work with, too. It’s been a long time since I could say that.”
Regarding his experience with TERRA, he shared, “Ever since I started with TERRA, I have never gone without work. TERRA has kept me busy. I went in for an interview on a Thursday and within a week I was working. I would absolutely recommend TERRA.”
He added, “I’d like to thank Mary. Even though I came to TERRA looking for a completely different thing, that didn’t work out, she gave me the heads up on this new job and we ran with it.”
Congratulations, Ryan! We are so glad we could play a part in your success story.
