TERRA Helped Me Land a Job with a Great Company

Adelelmo Valle Aldana was living and working in San Diego, but didn’t love his daily commute.

Ultimately, he decided to seek better job opportunities elsewhere and relocated to Washington with his family.

Adelelmo, who goes by Memo, was looking for a warehouse opportunity, since he had over six years of shipping and receiving experience, as well as warehouse supervisory experience under his belt.

But he wasn’t sure how to get started.

His cousin recommended that he reach out to TERRA’s Tukwila office – and that he speak to Tamika Williams, Staffing Specialist.

And he did.

Tamika spoke highly of her first meeting with Memo. “He had great energy and a positive attitude,” she said. “By the way he spoke about his work experience and skills, I could tell he had a great work ethic.”

Because TERRA’s offices work together to help people find the right fit, our Tacoma team actually placed Memo in a role. Unfortunately, it wasn’t exactly what he was looking for.

Tamika jumped in to help and found him a role as a an order picker for one of her clients.

She shared, “Memo had the order picking experience, plus forklift experience. He also had been a warehouse supervisor, one that worked alongside his team and filled in when needed. I thought it would be a great fit for him.”

Though it was only meant to be a temporary opportunity, the client wanted Memo on their team. They hired him on as a full-time, regular employee!

Tamika said, “The client loves that he gets along great with the team there. He is a quick learner and is very reliable. He is also willing to work on weekends whenever needed. They think Memo is a great asset to the team.”

Memo is also really happy in the role. “The staff is friendly and it’s a good company to work for,” he said.
